Larry was born on July 13, 1947, and was raised in Lehigh Furnace, Pa. He graduated from Slatington High School in 1965 and then went on to further his education with two years at Allentown Business School, where he received an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
Larry was drafted into the United States Army on March 3, 1969. He took Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Dix, New Jersey and Advanced Individual Training (AIT)-Military Police-at Fort Gordon, Georgia. After graduation from AIT, Larry was sent to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland for six months prior to being sent to Vietnam.
In Vietnam, he was stationed with the 557th MP Company, Long Binh, where he patrolled the nearby villages, mainly as M-60 gunner on a jeep. About a month later, he was assigned to the Bien Hoa Provost Marshal Office, where he worked as an administrative clerk until the mission was concluded. He was then reassigned to the Long Binh Provost Marshal Office as a clerk. Larry also served for a brief period of time as driver for the Long Binh Operations Officer. He was awarded an early out and left the military after one year and ten months of service.
He is a life member of Veterans Of The Vietnam War, as well as a life member of VFW Post 9264, in Macungie, Pa. Larry is also the past president of the Lehigh Northampton Vietnam Veterans Memorial committee.
He has written two novels, 95 Bravo and Requiem For A Vampire. He is currently working on several novels and short stories.
Larry worked for Mack Trucks from 1973 to 1986. He was employed by the US Postal Service as a letter carrier from December of '86 until he retired on Feb. 29th, 2008. Presently he is employed part time as a courier for Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Larry has two children, Laura and Matthew and he is married to Peggy Deets of Hellertown, Pa.
